Automobiles in German City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; authorities are currently not aware of any harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A high-ranking representative stated the incident made him without words and required to be resolved promptly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine people by a shooter targeting people of migrant background in February 2020.
